Many are interested or concerned when it comes to immigration. While a number of immigrants are working at low wages, some of them has achieved high goal in education and in business. America is a country of great opportunities, they come in here with nothing and reach high goals. Reisman, author of “Capitalism: a Treatise on Economics”, is a good example as an Emeritus Professor at Pepperdine University. He said that “ talent requires freedom in order to flourish”. For example, Albert Einstein was a brilliant scientist and also an immigrant who became a United States citizen in 1940. By his scientific works, he has changed the face of America in the world in many ways, and “He is perhaps the most well-known scientist of the 20th century” (Inventor 12). If we did restrict immigration at that time, the world would not have benefited from the mind Einstein. In American Immigration, Daniels acknowledges that “ much of the research that developed the atomic bomb was done by refugee scientists such as the Italian Enrico Fermi, the Hungarian Leo Szilard, and the Australian Lise Meitner” (15).

In Immigration Policy, Simon notes that “ there were a lot of Vietnamese and other Asian immigrants youth who achieve distinction in completion ...”. Talented people come to America because they believe that America is the only place on earth that would allow their minds to attain greatness and perfection. Many immigrants possess extraordinary talent, but their native countries do not have a system in place to exploit their knowledge, as does America. Barone, a Senior Writer for U.S. News and World and principal coauthor of the Almanac Politics wrote, “without the immigrants the United States would face a severe shortage of engineers and scientists”(264).

Most immigrants are successful businessmen. As a matter of fact, America is the best place for risk takers to materialize their dreams. Besides working hard, Immigrant entrepreneurs tend to succeed in a dynamic economy because they are innovative and mobile” (Simon 61).

Good job on this blog! You talk about something which is very true. Immigrants come from all over the world the U.S. mostly because of the opportunities that they get here. For example, I came to the U.S. 16 years ago myself. Even though I was just a baby, my parents came here not just for them, but for me and my siblings. They saw the benefits the future had for them here, and that is why they chose to leave their country. Unfortunately, many countries do not give people the opportunity to show their talents, and that is where the immigrants are benefited in America. In fact, more immigrants have their own businesses in the U.S. than Americans do. That to me, is not surprising because my family has their own business as well. I like the last quote that you wrote on your blog talking about how without immigrants the U.S. would have a shortage of engineers and scientists. It's very true. Not just that, but Americans would have a shortage in other job areas too. For example, if it was not for immigrants, the U.S. wouldn't have Asian restaurants, Middle-Eastern restaurants or any type of International restaurant. Not just restaurants, but many other things. Anyways, this topic can go on forever, but for now here is a website that might help you out for your topic: http://www.tcf.org/list.asp?type=PB&pubid=491
I agree with Kanwal, you bring up really interesting information here. I think I was distracted by a few things, though. First, you doubly posted this entry (it appears again, just without the photo). Also, your transitions from the text to quotes you use in the text is a bit choppy. You can smooth that out by hugging those quotes to the text (don't let them float), reading the text out loud to make sure of verbage (subject/verb agreement as in "some have acheived" vs. "some has achieved."
And I wonder, how does the Reisman quote work here? Was he speaking specifically of immigrants? Does it work because he himself is an immigrant? Can you give us a bit more context for the quote? Finally, what do you mean by the quote "...disctinction in completion"? Completion of what, exactly?
You have *great* ideas here. Just clarify them in the text and the whole will be equal to the parts!
As an immigrant, I symphasize with your opinion. Immigrant life is unfair sometimes. One of the biggest immigrant Korean community is in Los Angeles, California. Most of the immigrant Koreans have graduated college and some of them have earned their master’s degrees or doctor’s degrees. Some have been scientists or engineers and had good positions in the Korea. However, they moved to America for several reasons. As immigrants, they opened their own business or worked at American company with low-wages. Their jobs in Amrica are for lower positions than their capabilities. Nonetheless they cannot complain about their disadvantages in America. America thinks minorities immigrate to America on their own free will.
